Mangalore, June 3, 2025: Rev. Fr Vincent D’Souza officially took charge as the Spiritual Director of Gladsom Home for Students, marking a new chapter in the spiritual journey of the formation house. The appointment was ceremoniously celebrated on the evening of June 3, 2025, in the presence of the Rector, Rev. Fr Antony Clany D’Souza, the outgoing Spiritual Director Fr Harry D’Souza, the Regent Br Aashton Dsouza, and the entire Gladsom community.
The event commenced with a meaningful prayer service, invoking God’s blessings upon the new ministry. In a symbolic gesture, Fr Vincent formally assumed his role by signing the official register, marking the canonical handover of responsibilities.
Adding great significance to the occasion, Very Rev. Fr Maxim L. Noronha, Vicar General of the Diocese of Mangalore, attended as the Bishop’s representative. In his address, he highlighted the crucial role of spiritual directors in priestly formation and extended his heartfelt blessings and good wishes to both Fr Vincent and Fr Harry.
The programme was thoughtfully coordinated by the Rector, Regent, and the seminarians of Gladsom Home. It was graced by the presence of Very Rev. Fr Maxim L. Noronha, Fr Andrew D’Souza, Parish Priest of Bajpe, and 13 diocesan priests, reflecting strong diocesan support and solidarity.
The evening concluded with moments of fraternal fellowship and refreshments, as the community expressed its gratitude to Fr Harry for his dedicated service and welcomed Fr Vincent with open hearts and prayerful support.
