Gladsom Day 2025 – Celebration of Joy and Gratitude

Mangalore, 4 May 2025 – Gladsom Home for Students Minor Seminary celebrated Gladsom Day 2025 with great joy and solemnity on Sunday, 4 May, in the presence of Bishop Emeritus Most Rev. Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Vicar General, priests, religious sisters, and parents.

The celebration began with the Holy Eucharist, presided over by Bishop Emeritus Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza and in the homily he mentioned about the experience of Risen Lord and prayed for vocations. Following the Mass, a vibrant cultural programme was held, featuring four performances by the Gladsom Brothers. The first was a soulful instrumental music performance, followed by the rendition of the Ruby Jubilee Song, and a lively presentation of Konkani folk songs to honour and preserve the Konkani tradition. The event concluded with a meaningful skit titled “Palvon Petleli Vath” performed by the brothers.

During the programme, the Bishop Emeritus presented mementos to all the generous donors of Gladsom Home and expressed his joy and appreciation for the well-organised event. A highlight of the evening was the release of ANGE 2025, the annual magazine of Gladsom Home, by the Bishop Emeritus along with the Vicar General, Rector, Spiritual Director and the Editor Tenzil Dsouza.

The event was coordinated by Rev. Fr Antony Clany D’Souza, with the support of Fr Harry D’Souza, Regent Br Joel Fernandes, and all the Gladsom Brothers. The celebration was graced by the presence of sisters namely, the Sisters of Jesus and Mary Convent, Diya Kiran Convent, Asha Niketan Convent and Ursuline Convent, along with many priests from the diocese. The parents of the brothers also participated wholeheartedly in the celebration.

The programme concluded with a sumptuous festive meal, bringing to a close a day filled with gratitude, fellowship, and joyful celebration.
